Website Design

I got into designing websites when I registered plasmamusic.com back in 1999. Since then, I've designed websites for private individuals, artists, charities and businesses.

You can't really do this kind of work without some coding, even with modern creative environments like WordPress. Despite that however, I don't consider myself a coder. Quite the contrary, in fact.

A website is your portal, your window to the world. It needs to reflect what you or your business, is all about. So, with a view to get to know just what kind of image my clients want to project, I prefer spending a little time getting to know them and their business.

For various reasons, not everyone's able to produce written content, graphics and photographs but don't worry. I can do all of that. In fact you're kind of getting four service providers in one!

Once a website is designed and has gone live, I'll start to focus on something called search engine optimisation or SEO. This takes time but will help improve the ranking of your website in search engines such as Google and Yahoo.

The work doesn't stop there. Things change and you want your website to stay up-to-date. SEO demands also change and so, what tends to happen, is that as opposed to being commissioned to just design a website, many clients prefer to negotiate a retainer which means I'm always there when your website needs a tweak.

So, if you don't already have a website or you're not sure about the details of your existing website, I also offer 'one-stop-solutions'. What I mean by that, is that I'll also manage everything to do with your website. You won't have to worry about remembering to renew your domain name or your hosing package. You won't have to make a note of your access credentials. Even plug-ins used on your site to either give it more character or offer functionality such as e-commerce, can be included in a simple monthly retainer package. Just message me or give me a call. 🙂
