  • UK CUSTOMERS - Prices exclude VAT (20%) which is only shown in check-out.
  • OVERSEAS CUSTOMERS - UK VAT disappears when you enter your country in check-out. Purchases from outside the UK will NOT pay UK VAT.
  • Instead of flooding you with a huge selection, I have tried to keep shipping options simple and straight-forward.
  • To save you a little money, items under 100.00 GBP are sent without tracking.
  • If you're outside the UK, your purchases may be subject to import duties which I'm afraid, I can't predict.
  • After purchase, you'll want to go to 'Shopping Cart'. Please enter a valid e-mail address and then press <Enter> on your keyboard to bring up shipping options and delivery address entry option. You can still cancel your purchase if you wish.

If you have any questions about my on-line store or the products and services I offer, please take a quick look at my FAQs and of course, you can always just contact me. 🙂

PRODUCTS - With over forty years of electronic design and manufacturing experience, mostly in the audio industry, I still love taking on challenges and winning! For me, designing something and seeing it through to a commercial product, is as creative as writing and producing in the studio. Under this category,  you can browse through the things I make to help musicians, producers and engineers, along the way. 🙂

SERVICES (Technical) - Don't let the fact that you're unable to install one of my systems into your beloved piece of vintage equipment scare you off! I'm more than happy to do that for you. I also repair and  service studio and live performance gear as well as renovate vintage synthesisers, signal processors and guitar amps.

SERVICES (Creative) - I've been involved with studio and live music production, since 1985. It's my passion and I have a huge wealth of knowledge and experience. Being a musician myself, I'm able to connect with my clients while I make magic things happen. I'm also a keen photographer, website and graphics designer. If you think I can be of assistance, please do check out this category.

Earth bonding kit for Roland MKS-80, Super-JX and Juno-106

In stock
Product Details

This kit will allow you to replace a 2-pin IEC mains inlet socket on your MKS-80 or Super-JX, with a 3-pin IEC (C14) mains inlet socket. The kit also includes an insulating boot which fits over the rear of the C14 socket, thereby covering up the terminals on the socket.

The kit includes earth leads with M4 / M3 tags. For the MKS-70 and Juno-106, tags can be conveniently connected to existing M4 mounting points. For the MKS-80, hardware is M4 and uses a spare hole in the bottom case of the MKS-80 near the power inlet socket (how convenient).

The IEC C14 socket that is supplied with this kit, is a drop-in replacement for the 2-pin IEC connector found on many Roland keyboards and rack modules. It is NOT required to drill, file, cut or modify the case to fit this IEC C14 socket.

A little known fact is that even keyboards with integral (hard-wired) power cables, have the power cable mounted to a metal bracket which is secured to the same screws holes and with the same type of screws, that are used on versions with IEC connectors! Behind that plate, is a cut-out for an IEC C14 connector.

Below is an image of the back of a Japanese JX-8P with a hard-wired power cable. You can clearly see that the cable goes into a cable gland which is in a very IEC C14 sized metal plate. T H A N K Y O U, Roland!!!!

A NOTE ON PACKAGING – I believe and support recycling and try to do what I can. As such, if you’re buying items from me, please don’t feel disappointed with regards your packaging! It may not be new or branded (or shiny) but let’s face it, you’re only going to chuck it anyway.

UPDATE - 8th July 2022

I was never really happy with the IEC C14 connector that I've been using and recently I've done a little research into sourcing a replacement. I'm delighted to report that the new connector is GREAT! More information and why it's so groovy, can be found here.

Annoyingly, my shopping cart software displays shipping information after you’ve confirmed your payment option. I’m trying to get this changed as I believe that customers should always know exactly what they’re paying. Of course, I have no control over import duties but I try my best to give clear, concise information.

I therefore maintain a ‘Shipping Prices’ page and visitors to my website who are interested in buying stuff, have the opportunity to check shipping costs to their country / region.

My shipping costs are calculated on item value and not weight as everything is insured.
